Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, the daughter of a musician from Mexico was born to an adored family of musicians. Her early years were spent listening to classical music, old boleros, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves the operas and tangos along with any dramatic performance. Ana began learning to play and sing from an early age, along together with her mom. She received more formal training in singing when she reached the age of 16 old, under the legendary Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later at the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous chamber and opera choirs. In 2000 she moved into the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007 she moved to her home in southern California. She is currently performing traditional Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. Alongside being a local performer and instructor, her love of music and art keeps her engaged in a wide range of projects. Ana has been a member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as well being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is grateful for having the chance to share her love and passion of the traditional Latin American songs with others and, in the process hopes to instill a sense of particularly among the younger generation, to help keep this music vibrant and alive.Viva Mexico!
